Based in Hastings town centre, His Place Community Church is a real gem. Originally built in 1856, this listed building was enlarged many times and rebuilt in 1885.
The building has always been used as a base for community togetherness, support, and education.
The church welcomes everyone regardless of class, belief, or ethnicity.
His Place works in conjunction with Mental Health Hastings
, and provides volunteer placements to service users from Community Mental Health services. We are also home to an AA group and an inclusive 12 Step Life Recovery Addiction Support Group, which caters for all addictions within this group.
Signposting to national and regional organisations is provided, and, in addition, carer support is also provided.
The Community cafe
, open 5 days a week, hosts occupational therapy groups, craft groups, and music events on a regular basis. Church service is on Sundays, and is open to all, followed by a social get together, with an open mic session on the first Sunday of every month.
See the live calendar
for more information.
His Place is also home to Hastings' foremost classical music venue The Opus Theatre
, hosted by renowned Argentinan ( now Hastings!) composer, Polo Piatti.
His Place Community Church and Centre plays an important role in the daily life of Hastings.
